CATALONIA 5K RACE FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts have a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, and the Catalonia 5K race is just one of the many initiatives they carry out to support their local communities. In the Dominican Republic, the hotel chain has donated more than RD$1,500,000 to Fundación Amigos Contra el Cáncer Infantil through the run in previous years, and they hope to continue this tradition of donations with this year's event.
The run was a resounding success, with a large turnout from runners and significant fundraising for the cause. At Green Garden Corp., we joined as one of the sponsors to support the cause and help make the race possible; which demonstrates our commitment to the community and desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. We are proud to have been a part of this charity event and look forward to continuing to support important causes like this in the future.
The annual event, Catalonia 5K Race, was held on May 21, 2023 to raise funds to fight childhood cancer. This year, it was held simultaneously in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain. The funds raised will be donated to various foundations that support children with cancer, including Fundación Amigos Contra el Cáncer Infantil in the Dominican Republic, Make a Wish in Mexico and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Spain.
The participants received a race kit that included a t-shirt, bib number and other gifts. The course was flat, making it accessible to runners and walkers of all levels. In addition to the race, there was music, food and other activities for the enjoyment of the participants and spectators.
By participating in the run, people supported a good cause while enjoying a fun and active day. Whether you are an experienced runner or a beginner, running is and will continue to be a great opportunity to challenge yourself and make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.
